FULL TITLE:  The Peculiar Court of Leighton Buzzard - Persons Named in Wills Proved 1701-1846.

This booklet contains a list of names extracted from 511 wills proved in the Peculiar Court of Leighton Buzzard in the years 1701-1846 inclusive.  The main list, comprising over 5,000 names, is arranged in alphabetic sequence and has a reference number against each name allowing the reader to cross-refer to the list of testators.  A 2-character relationship code may also be shown where the person named is stated to have a relationship to the testator.  The list of testators is presented in reference number sequence and shows, for each testator, the Record Office reference, the date of the will, the date the will was proved and the name and location of the testator.  A list of relationship codes and their meaning is also provided.  The area of jurisdiction of the Peculiar Court of Leighton Buzzard consists of the town of Leighton Buzzard with its hamlets Billington, Eggington, Heath and Reach and Stanbridge.
